“Finding You Therapy Programs rests on the premise that the relationship you have with yourself, through the exploration of your emotional history, forms the basis for all your relationships. Grounded in attachment theory and rooted in the latest evidence-based practices, Finding You offers therapeutic intensives, coaching, and on-line courses to help you get unstuck, find more peace, and develop greater clarity. At Finding You Therapy Programs, we believe that the answers to our most difficult questions are found when we look deeply within ourselves.” - Dr. Brad Reedy

“The desire to know your own soul will end all other desires.” - Rumi

Our Philosophy

  • Attachment Theory forms the basis of all of our programming. This means that who we are is shaped by the relationships and contexts. This is not problem solving therapy, but an invitation to look deeper into ourselves and our histories for the keys that unlock the doors of our understanding. As J.D. Gill puts it,

    • “Part of the business of psychotherapy is to discover and create alternate experiences for thoughts, feelings, attitudes and beliefs. This is undertaken in the service of freeing people to be able to re-experience themselves in a safe but different context. The virtue of talking to an empathic and accepting person who has a different base is that it quickly illuminates one’s own. What was automatic and unconscious is noticed and discussed. The world is allowed to become one of noticeable contractions.”

  • Finding You Therapy Programs is informed by Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey.” Campbell observed that the stories and myths from every time and every culture were similar in that each of them offered a roadmap to becoming our true selves. Ultimately, he suggested, the purpose of myths was to offer a way back to ourselves,

    • “The privilege of a lifetime,” Campbell explained, “is being who you are.”

  • Experiential and didactic learning. Our Intensives are at the focal point of all we do. A Finding You Intensive invites participants to utilize psychodrama to explore the earlier contexts which shaped them. We believe that the experience of telling your story in a small group setting, under the direction of our talented facilitators, provides the best opportunity to re-experience yourself. All Finding You Therapy Programs utilize both didactic and experiential methods like psychodrama, art therapy, group therapy, and mindfulness practices to more effectively access the unconscious feelings and beliefs which may hold us back from greater joy and freedom.

  • Ultimately, the hallmark of Finding You is our commitment to “Find You” rather than “Fix You.” In all of our offerings, we subscribe to the notion taught by the master therapist Carl Rogers,

    • “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” We believe that safety is not just the precursor to effective therapy, but safety IS the therapy.”
